Alright, You Asked For It!

Okay. Since so many of you have been asking what the song is, I decided to post some of the lyrics and give a few hints, maybe even a link or two. I just can't write the title.
The song came out on Meredith Brooks album in May 1997.

The first verse is as follows:

I hate the world today
You're so good to me
I know but I can't change
Tried to tell you
But you look at me like maybe
I'm an angel underneath
Innocent and sweet
Yesterday I cried
Must have been relieved to see
The softer side
I can understand how you'd be so confused
I don't envy you
I'm a little bit of everything
All rolled into one...

...and the radio gets turned off!

Here is a link to the rest of the lyrics. Enjoy! And don't say I didn't warn you!

not because i think that of you, but because the hint of the "one" word and the radio gets turned off and i (sadly) like the song too . . . i guess what i'm saying is i knew that was the song and i just couldn't write the word either! you're cute.

Oh Summer, you're funny. You should have told me about that song, we could have blasted it in our room. Maybe it would have been better than the color spectrum song. At least it's not "truly, madly, deeply" I still don't really love that song but it does make me smile and think of you and roy whenever I hear it.

I seem to recall that in the early days of your engagement I once began to tremulously inquire of you whether Roy "knows that you..." At that point you finished the sentence for me. I believe it may have included that word. That was only true for a couple of brief moments in your life...it is not who you are...so it needn't seriously be your theme song.

Summer!! My long lost childhood friend. A few things: I tend to look back on my childhood from time to time and reminisce about it to my husband and your in about 99% of my memories! Also, you really had me wondering about what song you could be talking about until I just now read the lyrics. Funny thing, a couple months ago me and Tina and some family members were at karaoke and she insisted I sing that song because she thinks it is "my" song. Hmmmmm, what is she trying to say? Anyway, just had to comment and say hello to an important person from my past!! =)

At the risk of being the guy who walks into Relief Society, here's my perspective as the Hubby.

Pat, I knew then that Summer is, shall we say, strong willed. That's part of what I fell in love with. I love that my wife is tough enough to fight for what she believes is important, and yet sensitive enough to others to do it with tact and goodness. But she is, in the best sense of things, what she identifies herself as here. And, to paraphrase Tina Fey on SNL some months ago (she was speaking of Senator Clinton and claims that this term applies to her), "[women like Summer] get things done!"

(I actually argued that she should name this blog "B-----s Get Things Done" but that seemed a bit over the top, no? Plus, that URL is likely taken...)

On a related note, I've had this song stuck in my head now for 4 days...
